Health Care & Wellness Center: The Health Care and Wellness Center (HCWC) provides professional, accessible, and cost-effective primary, secondary, tertiary care for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease and injury. All patient care services are strictly confidential. Routine medical care and health screenings, including office visits with registered nurses, primary care nurse practitioners and physicians are available free of charge. The Health Care Center also offers the following services for a nominal charge: pap smears; laboratory tests (blood, urine, and cultures); EKGs; vision, and hearing tests; complete physical examinations; testing and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases; HIV testing and counseling; consultation with a registered dietitian; immunizations; and allergy injections. The Center also has a pharmacy dispensary containing the most commonly used over-the-counter and prescription medications, at low prices.

The Wellness Center advocates healthy lifestyle choices in order to maintain holistic health. The center provides a variety of health promotion activities including personalized computer assessment programs on fitness, nutrition, and alcohol. The health educators provide workshops for student groups and academic classes, as well as offer individual consultations on smoking cessation, diet, fitness, stress management, safer sex, and other topics.

Office of Disability Services: By providing information and advocacy, the Office of Disability Services seeks to assure the human, educational, and legal rights of individuals with disabilities.   The main purpose of the office is to advance the express choices of persons with disabilities while preserving dignity, equality, and self-determination.  The office offers a large array of services: legal information, scholarships database, adaptive technology, guide to using a Note-taker, physical access infrastructures.  For more information, click here.

Counseling & Psychological Services: The Florida International University Counseling and Psychological Service Center provides short-term psychotherapy.   This short-term therapy is composed of a limited number of sessions to address a specific issue or concern for individual, couples or group counseling.  Some of these issues may be, for individual counseling: Self-esteem Issues, General Anxiety, Performance Anxiety, Depression, Stress Management, Family Issues or Relationship Problems. 

Registered students can walk in or call to make an initial appointment. A mutually convenient time will be arranged with one of the available therapists.

Student Fitness Centers
Located adjacent to the Golden Panther Arena, the UP Student Fitness Center (SFC) features cardiorespiratory stations (including treadmills, steppers,, recumbent cycles, elliptical trainers and rowers), resistance machines (including Nautilus, Cybex, Body Master and Paramount), over 5 tons of free weights and more than 2 tons of dumbbells in various weights.
