Where to Get Help

COMPUTERS

The UTS (University Technology Services) Customer Care / Support Center can help students in many ways:

1. Its phone-in (305-348-2284), E-mail (utssc@fiu.edu), and website (www.fiu.edu/~utssc/) services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
This means that whenever you have any questions about your computer/networking applications, your computer username, passwords, quotas, electronic mail, etc., the Center is available to help you!

2. Since the Customer Care / Support Center staff members are well-trained to answer questions on many different topics, they may be able to resolve your problem while they have you on the phone. This eliminates the need for call backs. If the phone should be busy, you can E-mail your problem to the Center,
or fill in a handy service request form on the Center web site.

3. UTS has also established a System Alerts web page to advise users on the most current computing / networking outages. This outage information is also available at 305-348-2284. There is also a special web page to help keep the University Community informed about the latest computer viruses, hoaxes, and security vulnerabilities -- go to: www.fiu.edu/~virus .
