Services and Price Schedule
The International Forensic Research Institute's (IFRI) Forensic DNA Profiling Facility (FDPF) is a Florida International University College of Arts & Sciences recharge center that provides teaching, research and service support. The Facility has three separate laboratory rooms (OE 123, 120, and 118) and is housed in the Owa Ehan (OE) Building. These three rooms facilitate a “one-way flow” of samples that is necessary to control cross-contamination and to guarantee conformity with the strict Quality Assurance guidelines set for the FDPF. Activities in the Facility include: research support, workshop and class laboratory instruction support, run-only fragment analyses, custom fragment set up and analyses,
and future casework support.
The FDPF offers several services for fragment analyses. The basic service will provide a run-only service for human or non-human DNA fragment analyses. Other custom services are provided on a case-by-case basis and additional fees will be negotiated based on the service provided.

The FDPF is located in OE123, 120, and 118 and the hours of operation are Monday through Friday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm . The FDPF is a secure facility so please call 305 348-0498 for admittance to the laboratory. All visitors must sign in and out when visiting the Facility.
Terms and Policies
Run-only policy: The turnaround time for run-only samples is approximately 2-3 days but is based on the number of samples to be run. Also, samples will be processed in the order in which they are submitted to the FDPF. For research samples, it is highly suggested that you run your PCR products on a yield gel before submitting them to the FPDF. If you are using a standard STR kit, follow the guidelines for that kit. If a sample fails to produce a useable electropherogram due to a technical error on our part it, will be rerun automatically, using the original sample, at no additional charge. If a sample fails to produce a useable electropherogram due to user set up or error, the run will be charged, regardless of output.
Data Pick-up and Storage:
You will be notified by e-mail when your data are ready. The FDPF will only guarantee data storage for 30 days after notification.
Sample Submission
Samples must be submitted in 0.5 ml tubes and must be properly labeled so the FDPF staff can decipher the labels and the load order. All samples submitted must be accompanied by a completed submission form and a completed electronic sample sheet.
The submission form MUST include an account number and be signed by an authorized person assigned to that account. When an account is used for the first time, the account must be verified before the samples can be processed. It is recommended that this paperwork be done PRIOR to bringing your samples to the FPDF for the first time.

The FDPF currently supports the following ABI dye sets:
* 6-FAM, HEX, NED, ROX (ABI Set D)
* 5-FAM, JOE, NED, ROX (ABI Set F)
* 6-FAM, VIC, NED, PET, LIZ (ABI Set G5)
