SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

Metromedia Restaurant Group includes the Steak and Ale, Bennigan's, Ponderosa Steakhouse and Bonanza restaurant chains. With approximately 1,200 restaurants, Metromedia Restaurant Group is one of the largest full-service restaurant groups in the United States. Privately owned, Metromedia Restaurant Group is an indirectly held subsidiary of Metromedia Company.

Qualifications for Applicants:

• Must be of African American descent.
• Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
• Must be an admitted student into the School of Hospitality Management.
• Must be majoring in Hospitality Management at Florida International University.
• Must be of junior status or above.
• Must have and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 on 4.0 scale.
• Must be a full time student (12 credits per semester).
• Must have demonstrated financial need. Apply for financial aid.

Application Review:
Applicants will be evaluated according to the following categories:

• Demonstrated financial need.
• Previous industry-related work experience.
• Grade point average (minimum 2.5).
• Personal attributes, including career goals.
• Responses to the required essay questions.
• Neatness and completeness of the application.
• Preference may be given to students with restaurant/foodservice work experience or career goals.
