Undergraduate Program

A maximum of 60 semester credit hours may be transferred from a junior or community college; more than 60 credit hours may be transferred from a four year institution. Credit is granted for both Associate of Arts and Associate of Science Degrees.

Previous academic experience in a hotel or restaurant is not a prerequisite for admission to the school. The curriculum at FIU provides the specialized professional education to equip the student for a career in hospitality management. Students trained in liberal arts, education, business or other fields are qualified and welcome to explore careers in hospitality management.

A bachelor of science degree requires completion of 51 credit hours in hospitality management core courses and another 9 credit hours in electives. You will also be required to work at least 1000 hours in the hospitality industry in addition to the required advanced internship.
