Job Placement and More

Hospitality Management students have numerous opportunities to gain valuable industry exposure and work experience while still attending classes. Most hospitality management students choose to work part-time in a variety of jobs at local hotels, restaurants, clubs, and caterers. All students are required to complete an advanced internship.

Hospitality industry career orientation workshops explore opportunities in the field and guide you toward the area that's right for you. Students may join industry-related professional and student organizations and make valuable contacts.

Job placement is a priority with us. When you are ready to graduate, you will meet with a number of major corporate recruiters from around the country, who come to the FIU School of Hospitality Management. The biggest decision you will face when you graduate is not where to find a job, but which industry leader you want to be associated with.

After commencement you will be part of the Florida International Hospitality Society, a national and international network of alumni. The FIU School of Hospitality Management hosts annual gatherings in New York and Chicago for alumni during international conferences in those cities.
