The Tampa Bay Convention & Visitors Bureau in Tampa, Florida. The Tampa Bay CVB operates its own in-house marketing department and is accepting applications for a Fall 2006 marketing intern. The marketing intern will gain extensive real-world experience in the following disciplines:

The Tampa Bay Convention & Visitors Bureau, an independent, not-for-profit organization created to attract visitors and conventions to Tampa Bay, is accepting applications for a marketing communications intern for the Fall 2006 semester. The responsibility of the Marketing Department is to promote the Tampa Bay area as an exciting visitor, convention, sports and filming destination through advertising, publicity, promotions and collateral material. The fall semester intern will gain a broad understanding of tourism marketing as a whole, working on various projects in promotions, advertising, interactive media, production/graphics and public relations. The intern will also assist The Tampa Bay Film Commission on various film related projects as necessary. Below you will find an outline of various duties that the intern may be responsible for during the Fall 2006 semester.


INTERNSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:
Production
• Enter collateral inquiries into customer relationship management tracking system.
• Assist with image CD, DVD, and B-Roll duplication.
• Research and write various CVB related articles for bi-monthly newsletter.
• Assist in outside CVB events as photographer.
• Implement CVB photo gallery onto website, www.VisitTampaBay.com.
• Re-size images using Photoshop, assist with PowerPoint presentations and video production where necessary.
• Assist with the production of the 2007 visitor publications (The Tampa Bay Destination Guide, Tampa Bay Meeting Planners Guide and Tampa Bay Map Brochure). This project is the equivalent of producing a consumer magazine.

Public Relations
• Forward media exposure generated by the Bureau’s PR department to various CVB members who are featured within the articles.
• Create strategic media pitches to media outlets that might be interested in producing a Tampa travel feature.
• Forward media kits and press materials as requested.
• Draft press releases about meetings and leisure experiences in Tampa Bay.
• Reply to various media leads and inquiries as appropriate.
• Assist with the pitching, planning and execution of various press trips throughout your internship tenure.

Film Commission
• Various film projects throughout the semester.

Promotions
• Assist promotions specialist in initiating, fulfilling and tracking promotions that offer winners free vacations to Tampa Bay in exchange for media exposure.
• Initiate at least one Tampa Bay visitor promotion from start to finish and present to marketing department staff.
• Must have strong communication skills since the intern candidate will communicate with numerous radio stations and broadcast outlets across the U.S.
• Assist in planning Yankees Spring Training promos, concert promos & develop new inventive promotion ideas (game shows, TV shows, consumer products, etc).

Interactive Media
• Maintain Calendar of Events on VisitTampaBay.com and assist with web writing, photos and miscellaneous edits.
• Create and distribute bi-monthly Tampa Bay email newsletter and assist with email marketing to visitors.
• Assist in the development of a Tampa Bay online game.
• Update online visitor maps on VisitTampaBay.com.

Miscellaneous Duties
• Assist with trafficking advertising agency projects.
• Send Fed-Ex packages for department and assist with other clerical duties.
• Participate in departmental meetings, staff meetings and advertising agency meetings.
• Aid in sports and events marketing (Gasparilla, Outback Bowl, Yankees Spring Training, etc).
• Run errands outside the Tampa Bay CVB offices as necessary.
• Distribute daily tourism newspaper clippings to staff.
• Report weekly accomplishments to supervisor.

OTHER DETAILS/REQUIREMENTS:
• Junior or senior status with major coursework toward a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or Advertising required, plus excellent written and oral communications skills and strong computer skills.
• Internship requires minimum of 25 hours per week (prefer full time).
• This is a non-paid internship.
• The Bureau will cover parking costs associated with its downtown location.
• The fall internship will begin at the end of August or early September and run through December.
• Relocation assistance and lodging is not provided.

We are currently looking for Reservationists and a Reservations Manager for our company. We have over 500 Condos and Homes that are rented out just like Hotel Rooms. Reservationist: Good phone/people skills necessary. Computer literate.  Candidate would answer reservations lines, sell vacation stays, take guest information, check guests in/out. Hours range from 8:30 AM - 6 PM. Rate of Pay $6-$8 per hour plus bonuses.

Reservations Manager: All of the above including scheduling, training, interviewing, customer service...complete management duties. Weekends required. Offices opened no later than 6 PM. Good Training background required. Rate of Pay - Dependent upon experience.
