Lab inspection  and supplies  - let Kim or Mo know when we run out of something

  1. Agenda for future meetings:

    1. Next week – read and discuss molecular phylogeny  paper

    2. Oct 7 – critique Kristen’s poster for EPA

    3. Oct 21 – critique Kia and Rudy’s review papers for IBR

    4. Nov 11 – critique Kia and Rudy’s proposals

  2. Possible speakers to invite:

    1. David Kizirian (Naef’s species concept)

    2. Nikki Thurgate (gopher frogs)

    3. Joe Wright (speaker for the Biology Symposium in January

  3. Other herp club events to plan:

    1. Camping/herping trip – possibly weekend of Dec 18?  Choose site soon.

    2. Halloween herp horror films – Oct 28 – donations for drinks and popcorn

    3. Mo’s “How to fill out forms” talk, co-sponsored by Herp Club and BGSA – donations for drinks

  4. We have $415 to spend this semester

Discussion of paper “Integrating phylogenetics and invironmental niche models to explore speciation mechanisms in dendrobatid frogs” by C.H. Graham et al.  Mo ripped it to shreds.
