Meeting Minutes

15 October 2003

            The herpetology club met today to discuss a paper by Herpetology Club member Tina Ugarte.  The topic of the paper was mercury levels from Pig Frogs in the Florida Everglades.  We also discussed the Herp Club budget for this school year.  Members present included Tina Ugarte, Steven Whitfield, Ralph Saporito, Carla Duffoo, Kimberly Arce, and Maureen Donnelly.

            The herpetology club met today to review a paper written by herpetology club member Steven Whitfield.  The topic of the paper was utilization of microhabitats by a neotropical leaf litter herpetofauna.  Members present included Emilie Verdon, Ralph Saporito, Tina Ugarte, Carla Duffoo, Kimberly Arce, Steven Whitfield, and Maureen Donnelly.

             Today the Herp Club met with World Wildlife Fund research scientist Eric Deinerstein.  We were able to discuss with Dr. Deinerstein topics including rhinoceros conservation, global decline in amphibian populations, and Dr. Deinerstein’s previous research with bats in Costa Rica.  Members present included Emilie Verdon, Ralph Saporito, Tina Ugarte, Carla Duffoo, Kimberly Arce, Steven Whitfield, and Maureen Donnelly.
