Knowledge

Gamma Epsilon Phi stand for three characteristics that every well-rounded scholar should attain during their pursuit of higher education. Knowledge is first. It can be defined as facts or ideas acquired by study, investigation, observation, or experience. We may gain knowledge through formal and advanced schooling about any subject. Yet a true scholar realizes that knowledge does not end when schooling does and it is not limited to a specific branch of learning. A dedicated scholar will always have the undying thirst for knowledge. The dedication to know of every field, art, and concentration is what separates you from other students. It is by gaining knowledge that we realize how little we know about what surrounds us. Let this phrase be remembered so that we will be humbled when we think we have learned all that we can.

Excellence

Excellence is a trait that speaks for itself. Every person should strive to be excellent. Being eminently good is a trait that cannot be trained. It is a quality that must be attained through. It is the quality of being good from within, without any demand or need for recognition or compensation. It is attained by rising above every day challenges and striving to be not just .good enough. but the very best that you can do. Excellence is what you should strive to attain every day in every task you should take and nothing less.

Philanthropy

Last but certainly not least is Philanthropy. It is defined as goodwill to fellowmen especially in an active effort to promote human welfare. By participating philanthropic acts can a person learn to be unselfish and compassionate. It is through the contribution to the welfare of others, without compensation, can we truly contribute to the betterment of society.

Leadership

Leadership is defined through actions and not positions. It is a foundation of the balanced scholar and is expressed through conviction and willingness to serve. Leaders are aware of the consequences of their actions, take responsibility for such, yet always share their decisions with others. They demonstrate the ideals of perseverance, tolerance, productivity, discipline and kindness. As members of Gamma Epsilon Phi, you are all leaders in your own circles, entrusted with the task of inspiring others to reach the common goal of excellence.

Pledge

I pledge to hold these characteristics true throughout my actions as member of Gamma Epsilon Phi

To never extinguish the flame for knowledge.

To learn all that can so that I may not be ignorant

To strive to attain excellence in all that I do.

To realize that anything that I do can always be better,

And to not cease until it is the very best.

To remember those in need and to give unselfishly of myself to the better welfare of others.

To be compassionate in all that I do and to realize that recognition and compensation is never the ultimate goal.
