Members of GEP are always encouraged to be actively involved on campus and around our community. As officers, we try to offer a wide variety of events so that students have the chance to be as active as their schedules allow. We group activities into four categories: Service, Social, Fundraising, and Meetings. Each activity is assigned a certain amount of points and the members who participate in such activities receive these points, with the goal of accumulating a minimum of six points in each category. To be considered active members, students need accumulate a total of twenty-four (24) points by the end of the Spring semester (24 points over the course of two semesters).

The value of each activity in terms of points is announced by the officers during meetings, at the time the activity is presented. Meetings, for example, are worth 0.5 points. Therefore, students need to attend a minimum of twelve (12) meetings to accumulate the six points necessary in this category. Some activities require more effort than others and to compensate, the board of officers may decide to assign “Floating” to specific activities. These points are assigned in addition to what the activity is worth. For example, students may be offered floating points for bringing a friend to a beach cleanup.

Students can know how many points they have accumulated by asking our secretary either by email (at any time) or personally during meetings.
