TEXT:  Mathematical Statistics by John E. Freund, Seventh  Edition.




COURSE DESCRIPTION: The course is a continuation of Mathematical Statistics I..Here students will learn the mathematical theory behind inferential techniques like building confidence intervals and testing hypotheses.As with Mathematical Statistics I, the course focuses on theoretical techniques and requires a strong mathematical background.We will cover selected topics from Chapters 7, 8, 10 - 13.For a detailed outline of the topics that will be covered, please look up http://www.fiu.edu/~statdept/.


GRADES: The final semester grade will be determined by weighting:


Two Exams (Feb 11 and March 25)  50%
Homework 20%
Final exam (TBA) 30%
