RAJA BELL (Guard / Forward, 1997-99 at FIU, College of Business)

The FIU Years

At FIU, Raja played in 58 games and averaged 16.6 points per game(ppg), 4.2 rebounds per game(rpg) at nearly 2.5 assists per game(apg).

Currently playing small forward and shooting guard for the Philadelphia 76ers. Played regularly through out the 2001 NBA Finals against the Lakers.

 

 

ANDREA NAGY (Point Guard, 1991-95 at FIU, Bachelors Degree in Hospitality Mgt.)

The FIU Years

At FIU, led the nation in assist per game in 1994 with 10.3 per game. Was a Kodak All-American. Two-time AP All-American. Averaged 14.5 ppg., 9.4 apg. (4th best in NCAA History) in her four-years at FIU. Holds FIU record for career steals. Four-time All-TAAC first team selection.

Played with the Seattle Reign, Long Beach Stingrays and Philadelphia Rage of the American Basketball League (ABL). Currently playing point guard for the WNBA's New York Liberty.

 

MIKE LOWELL (Infield, 1993-95 at FIU, Bachelors Degree in Finance)

The FIU Years

Ranks among FIU's all-time top ten in career batting average (.353), hits (218), at-bats (614), rbi (119), doubles (38), games (174) and total bases (296). Mike was a Freshman All-American and leader through out his career at FIU.

Drafted by the Yankees and is currently the starting third baseman for the Florida Marlins.

 

STEVE RALSTON (Midfielder,& 1993-95 at FIU, College of Education)

The FIU Years

Ranks 4th best all-time at FIU in assists (33) and total points (113). Led the NCAA in scoring (56 points) and tied for lead in assists (18) in 1994. Was a second-team All-American, TAAC Player of the Year and first team All-Region. Was a member of the Under-23 U.S. National Team in 1996 and member of the U.S. National Team in 1997, 1999-2000.

Currently a starter with MLS's Tampa Bay Mutiny. Has played in two MLS All-Star games. Steve enters the 2001 season as Tampa's All-Time leader in points (111), games played (152), games started (151) and minutes (13,279).

 

JEFF CASSAR (Goalie, 1992-95 at FIU, College of Arts & Science)

The FIU Years

At FIU, Jeff holds the program records for shutouts (23), and saves (290). Has the 5th best career Goal Allowed Average (GAA) at 1.14. Was a member of the U.S. Olympic team in 1996. Played for U.S. in the Under-20 World Cup games. Has made two appearances for the U.S. Open Cup play.

First round draft pick (8th selection overall) of the Dallas Burn. Voted the Fusion's BIC Tough Defensive Player of the year by the local media. Rated top goal-keeper and top American player overall by SoccerAmerica. Currently playing for the MLS's Miami Fusion.

 

TYRONE MARSHALL (Forward, 1996-97 at FIU, College of Arts & Science)

The FIU Years

At FIU, ranks in top 15th all-time in goals (22), assists (15) and total points (59). Member of the National Championship Runner-up Squad. Member of the Jamaican National Team. Was Soccer America 1997 pre-season All-American. Earned MVP honors in Umbro Select All-Star classic prior to the MLS draft.

Tyrone is a versatile performer. Has started at forward, midfielder and defender for the Fusion. Currently playing for the MLS's Miami Fusion.

 

 

 

TAYNA LAWRENCE (Sprinter, 1995-99 at FIU, Bachelor Degree from Arts & Science)

The FIU Years

At FIU, was a five-time Division-I All-American. Acheived All-American status in the Indoor 200 Meter (1998-99), Outdoor 200 and 100 Meter (1998) and Indoor 55 Meter (1999).

Participated in the Summer Olympic for the Jamaican team. She earned a Silver and Bronze medals.
