Need help with a pet project? Would you like to be our liaison with an organization of mutual interest? Want to learn about different careers in nutrition and geriatrics? Desire to share your expertise?

Find out how you fit in the Gerontological Nutritionists Dietetic Practice Group.

The GN is changing the way it works to better serve it's members and the community they serve. Our ability to communicate with anyone, anywhere through telephone, fax, and the Internet has brought us all closer together and our profession no longer has geographic boundaries. Instead, our membership boundaries have become focused on areas of practice.

Based on a recent survey of GN member, it was found that our members fall into four broad areas of practice. They are:

1. Facility-based Long Term Care

2. Education and Research

3. Home and Community-based Care

4. Food Systems Management

The GNDPG is transitioning from have Area Coordinators to Areas of Practice. These Practice Coordinators(PC) will assist GN/ADA to develop articles for the ADA Journal or GN Newsletter, comment on state/national legislation, prepare and present continuing education programs, develop education , or establish new policies and guidelines on geriatric care. To assist the PCs, we wish to identify members with specific expertise. These members will be called upon by the PCs and GN Executive Committee when a specific request for information or assistance is required. By becoming a resource contact, you will help further the goals of your dietetic practice group and profession.
