Program Description
GeoSCOPE
is a summer research program that begins in Summer A with short 2-credit workshops
focusing on Geoscience career areas, followed by paid internships in active
geoscience labs on the FIU campus and field study areas during Summer B. The
purpose is to inform and involve students in the many exciting, rewarding
and highly paid careers available in the Geosciences.
GeoSCOPE participants must have some science background: either freshman level Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Earth Science, and they must take at least two summer workshops. The program is open to FIU and Miami-Dade College freshman and sophomores. Workshops count toward the 9 credits of summer coursework required for all FIU students.
