HAVANA, June 2 (Itar-Tass) - The Cuban government has urged the world community to put NATO Secretary-General Javier Solana on trial by International Tribunal as a military criminal, who issued an order to bomb Yugoslavia. The statement, which Cuban Foreign Minister Filipe Perez Roque read out to journalists here, stresses that "the war against Yugoslavia has turned into an outright genocide".
The Cuban government's statement notes that even Nazi air raids on Polish cities in the early weeks of the Second World War were not as cruel and massive as NATO's air blows on Yugoslavia. "Europe will always be stigmatised by this crime against humanity," the document says.
The Cuban government has demanded that the world community, primarily the industrially developed nations taking direct part in the NATO aggression on the Balkans, should provide funds for the restoration of Yugoslavia. Havana, for its part, has confirmed its readiness to send free-of-charge one thousand doctors to the Balkans, who will render medical aid both to the Albanian refugees and to all the other peoples living in Kosovo without any exceptions. The Cuban government has resolutely called for an end to the bombing raids on Yugoslavia and to "find a political settlement cost what it may".
