Committee president suffers suspicious accident
La Havana, August 25, (Nestor Baguer, APIC) - Mrs. Odilia Collazo,
acting
president of the Dissidence Support Task Force Committee, suffered an
automobile
accident this last Saturday, at about 3:45 P.M. while traveling together
with
her husband. The Chevrolet transporting the activist was suddenly charged
by a
bus belonging to the Julio Antonio Mella contingent.
Odilia suffered severe injuries, mostly to her face. Her loss of blood
was
only contained after applying stitches. Both victims received treatment at
the
Emergencias hospital where they were conducted. Her husband required
medical
attention for severe chest contusions, with possible involvement of the
rib
cage.
It is important to point out that this collision becomes highly
suspicious
due to occurring just after Mrs. Odilia Collazo assumed the presidency of
the
Dissidence Support Task Force Committee (Comite de Apoyo al Grupo de
Trabajo de
la Disidencia). Mrs. Collazo assumed the group's presidency after the
previous
committee members; Vladimiro Roca, Felix Bonne Carcasses, Dr. Gomez
Manzano, and
the economist Marta Beatriz Roque, were all incarcerated.
