National Action Party Declaration

HAVANA - August 12 - Last July 16, 1997, the Cuban Government arrested all four members of the Cuban Internal Dissidence Task Force. The goals of this group are; to peacefully and legally advocate with the government for their respect of our inalienable Human Rights, while demanding the political and economical changes that will promote, for all Cubans, a more equitable and democratic society. The arrested activists are; Ms. Marta Beatriz Roque Cabello, Mr. Felix Bonne Carcasses and Mr. Rene Gomez

Their sole crime is to publicly dissent from the current Cuban totalitarian regime by producing "The Motherland Belongs to Us All," a documented analysis of the misfortunes and failures of Havana's revolutionary government.

Since Cuba ignores its citizens' right to freedom of expression, this courageous activist face a jail sentence for having dared to exercise their Rights as Citizens.

Therefore, the Nationalist Action Party National Executive Board is imploring for the support of; the entirety of the Cuban opposition inside and outside the national territories, of all worldwide Human Rights monitoring independent organizations, and worldwide of all people of good faith able to be incensed by the commission of such an egregious and criminal injustice. We call onto you, to pronounce yourself to the Cuban government on behalf of these four activists, and every other prisoner of conscience held within the Cuban jails.
