Jailed Journalist Transferred Out; Dr. Biscet In

HAVANA, March 13 (Mery Miranda, Cuba Press) - Independent journalist Manuel Antonio González Castellanos was transferred out of the provincial prison in Holguín province, in eastern Cuba, last week.

González, who was condemned to two and a half years for disrespect to Fidel Castro, had been serving his sentence in the Cuba Sí prison to which Dr. Oscar Elías Biscet was transferred last week, raising speculation in dissident circles that the two tranfers were related.

González is one of four journalists serving jail sentences in Cuba. The others are Jesús Joel Díaz Hernández, Bernardo Arévalo Padrón, and Víctor Rolando Arroyo Carmona.
