Independent Professionals Arrested.

Havana, July 30, (Manuel David Orrio, ANP) Miriam Garcia Chavez, the Dean of the Cuban Educators Association and Dr. Augusto Madrigal Izaguirre, vice-president of the Cuban Medical Association were arrested today during the afternoon by State Security operatives.

As declared by the husband of the Licensee Garcia Chavez, the State Security Officers showed up at their home, in the Vedado community of Havana, carrying an arrest warrant against the professional. Dr. Madrigal was also arrested just for being visiting with Ms. Garcia.

"As of today, at 5 P. M., I still have no knowledge on the whereabouts of my wife," declared Ms. Garcia Chavez' husband.
