According to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) Cuba has subordinated "the administration of justice to the political power" of the government.
Furthermore, "the lack of constitutional provisions that regulate in an effective manner the exercise of citizens' rights vis-a-vis the state," makes it practically impossible to hold a fair trial inside of Cuba.
Therefore, We call on the Organization of American States and the United Nations to intercede and hold a "competent, independent, and impartial tribunal" into the accusations made by the Cuban government against Mr. Suarez.
