According to Granma, ``the outcome of that inquiry demonstrates that the accusations made by Cuban authorities in that connection are entirely true.''
Cuban police announced Sept. 10 that they had arrested Salvadoran citizen Raul Ernesto Cruz Leon for the bombings. In an article titled Cuba never lies, Granma reminded its readers Wednesday that after the arrest the Cuban Interior Ministry said it had proof that the bombings were part of ``an operation minutely organized from the city of Miami by a subversive structure belonging to the so-called Cuban American National Foundation.''
The foundation has denied any involvement in the case and the Herald story said money for the operation was donated by Cuban exiles in El Salvador and Miami as individuals, not as members of any organization.
``The Herald's findings support to a great degree the version by Cuban police that the bombings were the work of Salvadorans and Cubans from abroad . . . not the work of opposition inside the island,'' Granma said.
Even though ``the investigation was conducted by a [newspaper] that has never been known to be friendly to the Cuban Revolution,'' Granma said, the article demonstrated ``who are some of Cuba's enemies, in this case a mixture of Salvadoran criminals and terrorists of Cuban origin who for years have strolled the streets of Miami unhindered.''
