G-2 scores two points

Havana, September - Lately, two sensational news pieces have made me laugh; the arrest of our "Tropical Rambo," the alleged author of the Cuban tourist centers explosions, and the uncovering of a Freedom House "Super-agent." "Bingo! The G-2 scores two points," may scream any dimwit watching this game. But let us offer a closer look at the scoreboard.

Who may be this Salvadorian patsy, who puts his life on the line for such a meager amount of money? A real professional? Give us a break! Stop joking. The CIA must have better players and a little bit more cash. I do not think that they will entrust their prestige, and the destiny of such an important nation, to such a small player. But then, we are all waiting for more information.

As for the Frank Calzon's emissary, the script to this chapter turns even a bit more romantic. It reminds me of a Cuban soap opera in which our actor Sergio Corrieri plays a communist David, full of outstanding qualities, while facing a bunch of stupid puppets. But must of all, because, as in the soap, the dramatic thread unfolds without counterstrikes. The connections are more guessed than articulated.

In the end, all we have is reality; to function, the Cuban Intelligence demands a certain amount of heroism and trust. To fulfill these requirements, what is best than a pair of effective strikes than will once more establish their infallibility, and complete control. In this instance; while on the one hand it offers the world a statement of total security, such as required by our budding tourism industry. On the other, it makes clear to the Cuban opposition, of their ability to kill them by starvation if, they so desire.
