MEXICO CITY (AP) - A Cuban magazine editor condemned anti-communist broadcasts from the United States on Tuesday as an attempt to "incite terrorism and sabotage'' against the island nation, Cuba's government news agency said.
Isabel Moya, of the Havana women's magazine "Mujeres,'' denounced the broadcasts while speaking at a forum on women and the media in Havana, according to a Prensa Latina report monitored in Mexico City.
Miami-based Radio Marti, founded by Cuban exiles and run by the U.S. government, transmits news and anti-Castro propaganda. Broadcasts by its TV counterpart, Television Marti, are mostly jammed by the Cuban government.
Moya called on Cubans to counter negative images of women in the media, which she said focus on problems such as prostitution while ignoring "the richness, the contradictions and struggles'' of women on the island.
