Cuba provoked?
About 20 years ago, I had rifles aimed at me on two separate trips to
Buenos Aires. That was during Argentina's "dirty war."
One incident was eerily similar to that involving Danish student Joachim
Lovschall [who in 1997 was shot to death by a Cuban soldier for allegedly
crossing into a Cuban military area].
Once, I was looking for the horse track and got lost. Suddenly I heard a
shout to halt. There was a soldier in a guard tower pointing his weapon
at me. He ordered me to cross the street, and I quickly obeyed.
That probably would not happen now - things are peaceful there.
However, perhaps Mr. Lovschall would not have been shot if U.S. Rep.
Lincoln Diaz-Balart and the Free Cuba Foundation
were not formenting the overthrow of the Cuban government.
