Response to Castro and His Thugs: Officers But Not
Gentlemen
Response to Roberto Robaina: Officers But Not Gentlemen
On February 24, 1996 at approximately 3:15 pm two Cuban MiGs received
orders granting them permission to shoot down two unarmed civilian planes
in international waters. Here is a transcript of their conversation.
An Act of Cowardice
MiG pilot: The target is in sight, the target is in sight. It's a small
aircraft." The pilot identifies it as a Cessna
Controller: "Authorized to destroy."
One pilot screaming: "First launch. . . We took out his (cojones)
balls!"
Other pilot: "This one won't mess around anymore."
One pilot: "The other is destroyed. Fatherland or death. The other is down
also."
U.N. Ambassador Albright reaction upon reading the pilots
transcript
"I was struck by the joy of these pilots in committing cold blooded
murder," said Albright. "Frankly, this is not cojones(balls). This is
cowardice."
Roberto Robaina's Response
From the Press Conference of Roberto Robaina, Cuban Minister of Foreign
Affairs:
"Ambassador Albright, using highly infrequent language in diplomatic
circles, had no qualms in affirming with respect to my country -and I will
quote her textually for the record- that "this was not a matter of
"cojones" (balls), but of cowardice".
I wish only to respond that we have always had an abundance of the
former, and never suffered from lack of the latter"
