Laboratory Procedures and Lab Reports
Students are expected to read the description for that week’s lab prior to attending the lab.  In addition, students are expected to print a copy of the description and bring it lab.  Upon completion of the lab, lab reports will be written and typed copies turned in at the beginning of the next lab.  In general, the lab reports will contain the following sections: title, purpose, data and observations, analysis and graphs, and conclusion.  A better description of how to write the lab reports and the various sections, along with the descriptions for each lab can be found at the lab website, http://www.fiu.edu/~envstud/labs/1001lab.htm.

Attendance
Attendance is strongly suggested and will be taken at the beginning of each lab.  Missed labs and exams will not be able to be made up.  If a lab is missed, then you won’t be able to turn in a lab report and will receive a zero that report.  A student that misses three or more labs will fail for the semester.

Safety
Students are required to wear goggles, closed toed shoes, long sleeved shirts, and pants when working with chemicals or other potentially hazardous materials.
