Research Interests

Research interests in the environmental, social and political dimensions of sustainable development, including analysis on both practical and theoretical levels. I'm particularly interested in what policies and programs that have been offered in the name of sustainable development actually mean to people and the environment. My research work has centered on federal, state and local brownfields initiatives in the United States, as well as national and international energy policies and programs. I've examined these areas in accordance with environmental justice and sustainable development concerns. I'm also very interested in looking at the role of the social scientist in contemporary society and the integration of science, technology, the environment and society.
