"Exercising our Respect for the Environment"

It is our goal at FIU to provide each and every person a safe and healthy environment for working, learning, and research.  Indoor air quality (IAQ) is just what it is: it pertains to the quality of air in the indoor environment in regards to chemical, biological, or physical hazards.

Many of the common everyday building materials, machines, and chemical supplies can be sources for IAQ complaints.  Although there are many uncontrollable factors that create adverse health effects in our environment, those that are in the indoor environment can be controlled through increased ventilation and various public health measures
