The Department of Educational and Psychological Studies at FIU offers educational psychology courses for undergraduate, masters, and doctoral programs in the College of Education. The undergraduate and masters degree courses are also taken by certification-only students. In addition, we offer a track in Educational Psychology for Doctoral students. We do not offer any independent degrees in Educational Psychology at this time.
These courses are designed to apply theories and principles of learning and development to teaching and student learning in careers related to education. Issues related to cultural diversity and teacher effectiveness are emphasized in all of the courses. The more advanced courses review and apply educational psychology theories and empirical evidence to educational research, program development and policy making at all educational levels.
