What is a limited submission?
A program that restricts the number of proposals submitted by an institution is considered a limited submission. Agencies that impose a limited submission policy will refuse to review any application from an institution submitting more than the number specified in the guidelines. Therefore, complying with restrictions is crucial.
Where can I find information on limited submission programs?
OSRA tracks the limited submission programs, and posts them on this web site with their corresponding internal and agency deadlines as well as specific information on the necessary internal application procedures. OSRA makes every effort to track limited submission solicitations. However, if you are interested in applying to a limited solicitation that is not listed on our site, please contact Jorge Vazquez, limited submission program coordinator, immediately for guidance.
How are limited submission proposals selected?
Final proposal selections are made by the office of the Vice President for Research based on merit and broader benefits to the University community. If the number of potential internal applicants exceeds program limits, the Office of the Vice President for Research, following the Limited Submissions Policy, coordinates an impartial internal review to select the most competitive proposals for submission to the external funding agency. These reviews are conducted by members of the Limited Submission Review Advisory Committee, which makes recommendations to the Vice President for Research. The Limited Submission Review Advisory Committee is comprised of experienced faculty researchers from across the University community who are selected based on recommendations from College Administration and the Faculty Senate.
