Find Your Own Funding Opportunity

OSRA is subscribed to the InfoEd system, which contains GENIUS, SMARTS and SPIN. GENIUS (Global Expertise Network for Industry, Universities, and Scholars) is a faculty expertise database containing primary source profiles from scholars and researchers at leading universities. SMARTS (SPIN Matching and Researcher Transmittal System) matches funding opportunities with comprehensive, current U.S. Federal and Non-Federal (and expanding international research funding information.

Both GENIUS and SMARTS link with the Sponsored Programs Information Network (SPIN) with which "SPIN searches" are provided to faculty. The services submit, via e-mail program announcements directly to the Principal Investigator in their specific area(s) of interest. The only requirement is for the project director to set up a profile in the system. InfoEd can also be used to do specific funding agency searches. Faculty are encouraged to inquire as to how they can access the system on their own computer.
