This is an outreach program for motivated students (high school or younger) with an interest in mathematics.

The tradition of Math Circles began in Hungary and other Eastern European countries and involves research mathematicians helping young students broaden their mathematical knowledge and prepare for various mathematical competitions.

Students need only have two years of algebra, an active sense of curiosity, and a willingness to work on mathematical problems.

For Fall 2005, the program will meet every other Saturday,  2:00 - 3:30pm, in the Graham Center at the University Park campus of FIU

- room GC 285 for high school students

- room GC 283 for elementary school students.                                                  

First meeting: Saturday, September 24.
There is no charge for attending.
