Gross Anatomy Lab Practical Post-Mortem

The following is a classification and description of the most common mistakes made on anatomy lab practicals.

1. Mis-identification

2. Naming errors

3. Mental errors (doh!)

Recall the basic steps in identifying any anatomical structure (gross, histological or neurological):
N.B.  If two (hopefully no more) answers come to mind, record them both; then think (don't look) of a criteria by which you should be able to distinguish them, then re-examine the structure, apply your criteria and delete the eliminated answer

Finally, check that the answer line and question # match!
