ZOO 3733L - Gross Anatomy Lab I

Dissections of June 10 - 13 and June 17 - 19, 2002

N.B.     In each dissection some names appear in parentheses. These are structures that may not readily be found during your dissection, i.e., look for them but do not spend too much time on them so that you have time to comlete the laboratory. Many of these structures will be exposed more completely in future dissections or are best observed in your atlas. Also, there will be important structures listed that are not found in your dissector (Hansen, 1998); information about these items can be found in your text (Jenkins, 1998; Moore & Agur, 2002; Stern, 1997).

PERINEUM (Ch. 3)

N.B.     The structures of the perineum listed below are grouped by gender, and items common to both are repeated. The labs examining the perineum will involve minimal dissection of the cadavera. Thus, use your dissector simply as a guide to identify the structures listed below. Several models are provided and the structures are keyed to these models. The models are keyed as follows: FB - female bladder; FG - female genitalia, FP - female pelvis;. MB - male bladder; MG - male genitalia, SM - sagittal male; SF - sagittal female; and UM - urinary system model . Structures keyed as C and HC can be found on the intact (C) and the hemi-sected cadavera (HC), respectively.
To facilitate your studying, you may wish to rearrange the following lists by study speciemen, i.e., male bladder model, female pelvis model, cadaver, hemi-sected cadaver, etc.
