This project is a consortium of six universities, which have joined together to provide a unique opportunity in international education for graduate students in nursing.

The project links three European Community universities and three United States universities to provide access to web-based courses and health care learning opportunities leading to a certificate in international health. The project makes international study affordable, because it awards travel/living expense stipends for studies at a partner campus.

STUDY ABROAD
Eligible students can apply through their home campus to study abroad at a partner university.

WEB-BASED COURSES
Both exchange students and students studying from their home campus can enroll in web-based courses.

GRADUATE CONCENTRATE or CERTIFICATE IN INTERNATIONAL HEALTH
Courses lead to a graduate certificate or study concentrate in interdisciplinary family-focused health care. Courses can be taken as electives by graduate students in nursing at the participating universities

COSTS AND STIPENDS
Students pay the regular tuition and fees to their home campus, and room and board at the host campus. Selected students receive a stipend to pay for their travel and to offset some of the costs associated with travel and living abroad.

WHO MAY APPLY
Graduate students in nursing from any of the six partner universities may apply through their own university.

INTERNATIONAL AND GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE
This program provides an excellent opportunity to experience the life and health care patterns of other countries. Students not only focus on the predominant ethnic groups in the country, but also will learn about migration and immigration issues, underdeveloped countries, and global perspectives on the family, health and health care systems. Exchange students will have a unique opportunity to pair with students at the partner site to participate in clinical experiences within the health care system in that country. Students studying at home through the web will be able to discuss content and experiences with students from other countries.
