"Creating the Leaders of Tomorrow Through the Actions of Today"

The principal objective of the Collegiate Leadership Development Program (CLDP) is to begin cultivating the next generation of student leaders through greater activism on campus and in the community. A nationally recognized program, the CLDP is designed to promote and facilitate constructive dialogue and interaction between students and key University officials. Students will gain a better understanding about how the university's organizational structure functions and how they as students can play a more effective role in influencing and/or formulating university policy.

Participants will also have the opportunity to discover their own natural strengths and talents using StrengthQuest. StrengthsQuest leads each student in a discovery of his or her natural talents, and to unique and valuable insights into developing those talents into strengths. The student becomes better equipped to succeed, and to make effective decisions that enable him or her to balance the demands of class work with extra-curricular activities, job, and family. Students who are selected to participate will be required to pay a $15 deposit to receive a code to complete the online version of StrengthsQuest.

This program is sponsored by the offices of Multicultural Programs and Services, Enrollment Services, and the Center for Leadership and Service. CLDP is offered each summer. Visit the United States Hispanic Leadership Institute online for more information and the background of this national program.
