Dominic Akeig Mohamed is a professor and director of vocational and technical
education programs in the department of Education Leadership and Policy
Studies/Center for Labor Research and Studies at the College of Education at
Florida International University. His areas of research are operational
research, forecasting the demand and supply of trained man power and
pedagogical areas of training of vocational, technical and technology teachers and administrators. He has
developed and teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses such as
curriculum development, course planning, instructional strategies and
evaluation, tests and measurements, occupational safety and health,
foundation of vocation education, vocation education laboratory management and safety,
supervision and coordination of vocational, education programs, community
relations and resources in occupational education, trends and issues in vocational education and
administration of vocational, technical and technology education.
Dr. Mohamed received his Ph.D. in Industrial, Vocational and Technical Education from the
University of Minnesota, a M.S. in Administration of Adult Vocational and Technical Education and a B.S. in Industrial Technology both from the University of
Wisconsin-Stout. He attended Dunwoody Industrial Institute in Minneapolis,
Minnesota and Milwaukee School of Engineering in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Dr. Mohamed is involved in many professional organizations on local, state,
regional and international levels, trustee of Alpha Omega chapter of Epsilon
Pi Tau (EPT), an international honorary society of technology in
education, trustee Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS),
trustee National Association of Industrial and Technical Teacher Educators
(NAITTE), Commissioner Council on Occupational Education (COE).
