CITC2002 was the first conference on construction held in Miami during April 25-26, 2002. It brought together more than 130 construction professionals, educators and researchers representing educational institutions, government agencies, contracting organizations, engineering consulting companies, financial institutions and other organizations from around the world. The conference provided an excellent forum for discussing diverse issues facing the construction industry at the beginning of this century.

The conference had a broad scope and covered widely ranging topics. Topics were organized around the following themes:

·   Cost engineering and financial issues
·   Information technology and information systems in construction
·   Construction technology
