CENAP's primary objective is to investigate the use of natural products in both traditional and modern health systems. The Center focuses on plants that are employed in medicines, but does not limit its scope to therapeutic products. CENAP researchers employ multidisciplinary approaches to examine natural products, including their role in nature, their importance in traditional communities, their biological activity, their active constituents, and their sustainable use. Its researchers consider plant secondary compounds from cultural as well as evolutionary and ecological perspectives.
