Beginning in 2001, electronic theses were accepted in lieu of the second copy. The single hard copy is kept in University Park Special Collections.
The second copy of FIU dissertations will be kept in the University Park General Collection except for the following two areas which will be located at the Biscayne Bay Campus: 1) Creative Writing and 2) Journalism and Mass Communications.
Until Summer Session 2008 second copies of theses were also located in the General Collections at University Park or Biscayne Bay. Due to space constraints at UP, second copies of theses located on the 6th or 7th floor of the Green Library are now located in Storage. Any new second copies of UP theses with call numbers housed on the 6th or 7th floors will be assigned a Storage location and sent directly to Storage.
Over the years, various programs have moved from BBC to UP. As a general rule, the dissertations/theses already at BBC will not be moved to UP. Only new dissertations/theses completed after the move will be located at UP.
