Creating a Provisional Record

1. Commands:
   
   New b (books)
   
   New s (serials)
   
   New d (data file)
   
   New m (scores)
   
   New p (map)
   
   
2. Verify author's main entries by checking the authority file in "OCLC" or "LTLC".
   
   
3. Set up location in holdings record.
   
   Provisional variable fields include:
   
   902 :: ISBN
   908 :: Music Publisher Number (keep in all spaces and hyphens)
   909 :: Tickler (if applicable)
   910 :: Author == Main entry - personal name
   911 :: Author == Main entry - Corporate name
   912 :: Author == Main entry - Meeting or conference
   924 :: Title
   925 :: Edition statement
   926 :: Imprint (place : publisher, year)
   934 :: Series title (traced)
   935 :: Series title (not traced)
   940 :: General notes
   945 :: Initials
   970 :: Added author
   971 :: Added corporate name
   973 :: Added title
