Downloading records:

• Select ‘download records and reports’ from the menu
• From the ‘Records and their Associated Reports’ section select ‘WorldCat Collection Sets’ from the list
• Download all files except the count files
• go to the Cataloging Department drive: T:\genload\netlib\
• create a folder for the set of records: i.e., ‘netliby5’, etc.
• create a subfolder within the set folder for each file name i.e. ‘B0017794’
• download the file to that folder i.e. T:\genload\netlib\<set folder>\file folder\<file>
• file path example: T:\genload\netlib\netliby5\B0014776\B0014776.bin

Note: File extension as downloaded is ‘bin’ but could be ‘.dat’. Institution code for SOLINET is QYMA5.

 

Background: SOLINET code in the 049 will be changed from ‘QYMA’ to ‘YKFI[ELBN]’. Records without LCSH will be identified by sorting on 6xx tag with a second indicator ‘0’. These records will get a TKR (NETLIBY no6xxx0) so they can be retrieved in order to add LCSH to the bibliographic records. Matching for all records will be on OCLC number with matching bib records being overlaid and matching HOLs being overlaid.

·  edit NetLibrary date TKR so it reflects one date for the NetLibrary load and indicates the load and the subfile within the load, i.e.

o             NETLIBY<load number><subfile> <date>

o             NETLIBY5a 20060918, NETLIBY5b 20060918, etc.

·  if the GenLoad profile is revised, edit the 599 with profile field

• open datafile
• process records with Report box checked
• preview records
• with Report box still checked, ‘Send’ records
• review log file and resolve any issues
• ‘Send’ records without Report box checked
• Check number of records loaded in ALEPH:

·  TKR = (Source)<source file name> i.e. TKR = (Source)B0017794 or

·  TKR = NETLIBY<load number><subfile> <date> i.e. NETLIBY5a 20060918

Note: be sure to review matching that appears in blue at the bottom of the Preview window.

 

Statistics:

• add stats to spreadsheet (T:\genload\statistics\sls stats)
• notify Resource Development & Reference staff via email
• path for template T:\genload\statistics\template for load rept email
• send to:
