Physical Abuse

Definition: Any non-accidental injury that results from acts on the part of the child's caretaker.
Includes:
  • Beatings
  • Shakings
  • Burns
  • Human bites
  • Strangulation
  • Immersion in scalding water
Result: The result of these actions is often bruises, welts, broken bones, scars, or internal injuries.
