CLAST- College Level Academic Skills Test

Clear the CLAST requirement (pass it or be officially exempted from it) as early as possible!

  • Must clear it after 18 credits, but before you can declare a major (around 60 credits).
  • A registration hold is placed on students after 96 credits if CLAST has not been cleared.
  • Testing Office PC248 gives the CLAST.  Three times a year, early October, Mid February and in June.
  • THE Graduation Office will not even accept your application to graduate until you have officially cleared CLAST on our records.

CLAST Exemptions:

Note: Music Ed. Majors or anyone planning on teaching at the primary or secondary level cannot use CLAST exemptions. The State of Florida requires primary and secondary teachers to pass the CLAST exams in order to be certified.

Students can apply for Exemption from CLAST if they meet the necessary conditions and submit a CLAST Exemption request on-line or CLAST Exemption Form to the Registrar’s Office.
