CERTIFICATION: Upon successfully completing all course work for this program, a Certificate of Completion will be awarded by the Legal Studies Institute of the College of Continuing and Professional Studies at Florida International University.
 

In partnership with Mediation Training Group

The Legal Studies Institute will begin offering a Florida Supreme Court certified County Mediation training program during the 2002-2003 academic year. This 20-hour training program will focus on the basics of mediation and the communication techniques necessary to be successful. The only prerequisite is for participants to be of good moral character and be able to observe a minimum of 4 county court mediation conferences conducted by a court-certified mediator and conduct 4 county court mediation conferences under the supervision and observation of a court-certified mediator prior to applying for certification from the Florida Supreme Court.

  About the Instructor:
Susan F. Dubow, Director of The Court Mediation and Arbitration Program, the ADR Division of the 17th Judicial Circuit, Broward County, for over 20 years. She is a past president of the Association of Broward County Mediators, is President-elect of The Florida Academy of Professional Mediators.

Elinor Robin, is a Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Florida licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She is a member of the Florida Supreme Court's Mediation Training Review Board, President-elect of the Association of Broward County Mediators and a Board Member of the Forida Academy of Professional Mediators.
