TIME: Core Classes: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm, Saturdays (1/25 - 4/26)
Computer Classes: 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Wednesdays (1/9 - 3/5)
 
WHERE: FIU, University Park Campus, 11200 S.W. 8 Street and SW 107 Avenue. Please call the LSI office at (305) 348-249 one week prior to beginning of class for the room location.
 
COST: $595 per person for the program and a $25 non-refundable application fee for first-time/non-FIU students.

CERTIFICATION: Upon successfully completing all course work for this program, a Certificate of Completion will be awarded by the Legal Studies Institute of the College of Continuing and Professional Studies at Florida International University. A certificate from FIU will open doors to you.
 

The Legal Secretary certificate program is a one-semester program consisting of two courses for persons seeking occupational competence, a career change or to sharpen their skills and excel in today's law office or legal department. This comprehensive program covers the skills, techniques, and procedures, including computer skills necessary to excel in today's law office or legal department of any major corporation. Basic secretarial skills are required for admission to this comprehensive program.

Four workshops are offered in the most common areas of law: Corporate Law, Litigation, Probate and Real Estate Law.

  Registration Information :
Prospective students must complete an application form and submit it along with two letters of character reference, resume, and appropriate fees to the office of the Legal Studies Institute. Students may apply in person at our office, GL120; fill out the online application; or mail the application form, documentations, and payment to: Florida International University, College of Continuing and Professional Studies, Legal Studies Institute, University Park, GL-120, Miami, Florida 33199. You will receive a letter confirming admission into the program upon receipt of your documentation along with a registration form and course schedule.
