Credit Courses
Academic Credit courses assist you in maintaining professional
certification, lead to degrees or certificates, or provide convenient
class times and locations to fit your schedule. Courses may be offered
in compressed time frames, at off-campus locations or as weekend Executive
Programs. The College of Continuing and Professional Studies (CAPS) also
offers a number of Study/Travel Programs, in which a student may earn
academic credit while traveling and studying in exciting locations throughout
the world.

Bachelor
of Science in Hospitality Management
- Via
simulcast teleconference to St. Petersburg College, Florida
- The School operates on a Track concept with a core of 36 semester
credits required of all students, 15 credits required for the Track,
and 9 semester credits of hospitality management electives. Under this
system, the student enjoys maximum flexibility in choosing an area of
emphasis while being assured of comprehensive coverage of all areas

Program - Offered on the lakeside campus of DCT International
Hotel & Business Management School in Luzern, Switzerland. Although
specially designed to give non-U.S. students more opportunity to gain
the considerable advantages the FIU degree offers in pursuing a management
career in the international hotel, restaurant and tourism industries,
it also offers students from the U.S. an exciting opportunity to enhance
their education and life experience with one or more terms in Switzerland

of Public Administration Degree Program - The BPA degree
is appropriate for students seeking or currently pursuing a public service
career. This program is being offered through Miami-Dade County at the
Stephen P. Clark Building in Downtown Miami to accommodate County employees.
To be eligible for admission, students must have completed an Associates
in Arts degree at a Florida public community college.

Master
of Science in Forensic Science - The International Forensic Research
Institute (IFRI) Masters program offers an interdisciplinary program designed
to prepare students for careers in forensic science laboratories. The
program may also be suitable preparation for doctoral instruction in several
disciplines. This is primarily a research degree, emphasizing critical
thinking through research, presentation, and publication on each student's
original problem.

of Public Health - The MPH is a 46 credit hour online program
designed to provide fundamental skills in core areas of Public Health
and to server those seeking a broader base of knowladge to improve environmental

- A Master of Science in Hospitality Management, this track is an intensive,
18-month degree program requiring participants to complete 30 credit hours/10

of Science in Occupational Therapy - The online Master of
Science in Occupational Therapy consists of 36 credits including a project.
The project will increase understanding of the theoretical bases and current
issues of occupational therapy practice. Students will also develop critical

Professional
Certificate in Latin American and Caribbean Studies (Undergraduate)
- This certificate program allows the certificate candidate to study interdisciplinary
political, economic, and social issues in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Eighteen undergraduate credits (2000-4000 level courses) and language
proficiency certification are required to obtain the certificate. Certificate
candidates can obtain in-depth instruction in the Latin American and Caribbean
region without enrolling in an undergraduate degree program.
Professional
Certificate in Latin American and Caribbean Studies (Graduate)
- This certificate program allows the certificate candidate to study interdisciplinary
political, economic, and social issues in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Fifteen graduate credits (5000-7000 level courses) and language proficiency
certification are required to obtain the certificate. Certificate candidates
can obtain in-depth instruction in the Latin American and Caribbean region
without enrolling in a graduate degree program.
Public
Administration and Criminal Justice courses at the Miami Beach Police
Dept. - We are currently offering
undergraduate and graduate courses in Public Adminstration and Criminal
Justice at the Miami Beach Police Department. Any Miami Beach employee
who meets the requirement can take these courses.

Food Service Management Certificate - This certificate is an innovative
and comprehensive professional training program encompassing the fundamentals
of school food service management.
Spanish-Language
Journalism - With Emphasis in Investigative
Reporting Program Sheet. This program is designed for those who want to
work at the professional level in the Spanish-Language media in the U.S.,
Latin America, or Europe. The focus of the program is the development
of the writing, critical thinking, analytic and ethical skills necessary

Study Abroad Programs
These programs offer the best opportunity to earn credits
towards your degree while abroad in an exotic destination with an FIU
professor and friends. FIU and Non-FIU students of all levels may participate
in the Study Abroad Program through the Office of International Studies
for a period between two and eight weeks. The program consists of taking
FIU classes in an international setting during the Summer semesters (some
exceptions may apply).

FIU Study Abroad programs are short-term summer programs that help
students earn credits toward their degree with the benefit of instruction
by FIU professors abroad. Opportunities are available in Europe, the
Americas and Asia and include options in a variety of academic disciplines.
Examples include programs in art and education in China, environment
and culture in Jamaica, or business administration in the European
Union.
