The Child Anxiety and Phobia Program is staffed by graduate students
and post-doctoral fellows of the Department of Psychology at FIU,
supervised by
Dr. Wendy K. Silverman, Professor of Psychology and Director
of the Child and Family Psychosocial Research Center at Florida International
University in Miami.
Wendy K. Silverman, Ph.D., received her doctorate in clinical psychology
from Case Western Reserve University and is a professor of psychology
and director of the Child and Family Psychosocial Research Center
at Florida International University.
She has received grants from the National Institute of Mental Health
to design and evaluate psychosocial interventions for children with
anxiety disorders. She has published over 100 research articles and
book chapters on childhood anxiety, including children’s reactions
following exposure to natural disasters and crime and violence, and
has coauthored four other books. She serves on the editorial boards
of several scientific journals and is editor of the Journal of Clinical
Child and Adolescent Psychology. |
