About Personal Training:
Trainers2Personal training is a safe, effective, and individualized approach to fitness. Our professional training staff is committed to helping each individual achieve his or her personal health/fitness, post-rehabilitation, and/or sport-specific goals through the utilization and application of sound training principles.

Did you know that 70-80% of people who start an exercise program drop out within the first two to three months? Our trainers provide the education, motivation, and guidance necessary for a client’s success. With each one-on-one training session, a trainer is there to ensure proper technique, form, safety, and efficiency. Whether you are just starting out, in need of motivation, or looking to improve your quality of life, personal training will:

  • Maximize workout time
  • Optimize energy, stamina, and strength
  • Help you set & achieve realistic goals
  • Offer new program/workout ideas
  • Encourage Proper Fat Loss and/or Muscle Gain
  • Help establish a lifetime exercise habit

Trainers3The Department of Recreation Services is committed to ensuring the safety of all clients. Therefore, all of our trainers possess certification from a National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) accredited organization, or a National Board of Fitness Examiners (NBFE) affiliate. While each applies his or her own unique approach to training based upon personal philosophy, education, and experience, all personal trainers adhere to the fitness guidelines set forth by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). Moreover, all fitness training staff are required to possess Emergency Response Certifications in CPR, First Aid, and AED.
BOCproviderlogoThe Department was approved in March, 2007 to offer continuing education workshops whereby participants can receive CEU credits. The Board of Certification (for certified Athletic Trainers), the National Strength and Conditioning Association - Certification Commission (for strength and conditioning professionals and personal trainers) and the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (for personal trainers) all issued their approvals. Continuing Education workshops are instructed by Rec Services staff member Edwin Ryan, MS, ATC/L, CSCS, RCEP, HFD.
